The regular meeting of the Helper City Council was called to order by Mayor Mike Dalpiaz at 6:00 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
December 20, 2007
Council Member Jones moved to approve the minutes of
December 20, 2007. Council Member Buchanan seconded the motion. Motion Carried. Buchanan, Farrell, Jones and Armstrong all voting yes.
DISCUSSION AND/OR
APPROVAL ON BUSINESS LICENSE FOR COUNTRY CORNER CRAFTS, BRITTANY CUNNINGHAM AT
14 MAPLE STREET.
Council Member Farrell moved to approve a business
license for Country Corner Crafts at 14 Maple Street. Council Member Buchanan
seconded the motion. Buchanan, Farrell,
Armstrong and Jones all voting yes.
DISCUSSION AND/OR
APPROVAL ON LIBRARY BOARD MEMBERS.
Council Member Armstrong told the council that board members were needed to bring the Library into State compliance. Mayor Dalpiaz suggested that Council Member Armstrong and Council Member Jones each get a volunteer for the Library Board. Council Member Armstrong stated that he had been working on combining the Helper Library with the Price Library and would like the council’s approval to pursue this avenue. The Council agreed that Council Member Armstrong should look into a merger with the Price Library.
DISCUSSION AND/OR
APPROVAL ON 10th NORTH WESTSIDE ROAD ISSUE.
Mayor Dalpiaz reminded the council that back in August 2007, KC Williams had a flooding issue. Mr. Williams told the council at that time that the road was part of the flooding issue at his home. The council instructed Attorney Strate to do a title search on the road to see who owned it. Attorney Strate told the council that the title search showed that Utah Railway owned the road.
Council Member Armstrong moved to have Attorney Strate to
draw up a letter to Mr. Williams and Utah Railway on the ownership of the road. Council Member Buchanan seconded the
motion. Motion Carried. Buchanan, Farrell, Jones and Armstrong all
voting yes.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
(A) SOLAR LIGHT FOR
BILLBOARD:
Council Member Mascaro is stilling looking into the solar lighting.
(B) CARPET FOR 69
SOUTH MAIN.
Waiting for the property issue to be completed.
(C) BOYACK
RIGHT-A-WAY.
Mayor and Attorney Strate are still working on an agreement.
EXECUTIVE SESSION ON
PERSONNEL ISSUE.
There was no executive session called.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business Council Member Buchanan moved to adjourn. Council Member Farrell seconded the motion. Buchanan, Farrell, Jones and Armstrong voting yes. Meeting adjourned.
