The regular meeting of the Helper City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tempore Mascaro at 6:00 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
May 1, 2008
Council Member Jones moved to approve the minutes of May
1, 2008. Council Member Ganser seconded
the motion. Motion Carried. Ganser Armstrong, and Jones all voting yes.
ROGER METZGER ON
CRUISE NIGHT FOR CAR SHOW.
Mr. Metzger reported to the council on the route that the car would be taking on June 13. There will be food and a movie at dusk at the Main Street Park. Council supported the Cruise Night and thanked Mr. Metzger for all his work
ALLAN HUGHES AND
MICHELLE GOLDSMITH ON HAVING AN INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF MOTORCYCLE EVENT.
Mr. Hughes and Ms. Goldsmith informed the council that Helper was the International Headquarters for the International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers. They explained that every year a small group of members come to Helper just to camp out. Mr. Hughes asked the council if it would be possible to camp at the Main Helper Park and shower at the Pool. Council told Mr. Hughes that they would work with him on using the pool faculties. The event would be held on June 24 through the 26 2009.
LILLIAN MARTINEZ ON
DAMAGE TO HEADSTONE.
Mrs. Martinez was not in attendance.

APPROVAL ON BUSINESS LICENSE FOR TIA’S HOME ESSENTIALS, LOUISE HAMILTON AT 321
NORTH MARTIN ROAD.
Council Member Jones moved to approve the business
license for Tia’s Home Essentials.
Council Member Armstrong seconded the motion. Motion Carried. Ganser
Armstrong, and Jones all voting yes.

Council Member Armstrong summarized the progress on the swimming pool. Council Member Armstrong is hoping to open the pool on May 24 if there are enough lifeguards. At this time no hours have been set for the pool, it will depend on how many lifeguards are hired.

Council Member Jones reported that Nielson Construction will be paving from Swifts Stop and Shop to Lemar.

There being no further business Council Member Jones moved to adjourn. Council Member Armstrong seconded the motion. Motion Carried Ganser, Armstrong and Jones voting yes. Meeting adjourned.
