MINUTES OF THE HELPER CITY SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

The special meeting of the Helper City Council was called to order by Mayor Bonacci at 6:00 p.m.   

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Bonacci.

 

OPEN AND REVIEW BIDS FOR WATER PIPELINE.

 

Robert Welch opened the three bids that were received for the Fish Creek Springs Pipeline Replacement.   First bid Nelco Contractors Inc. for $419,301.95. 

Second bid Whittaker Construction Co. $849,867.00 and the final bid from Park Acres Construction Co.  $438,470.35.   Greg Poole, Project Engineer from Hansen, Allen and Luce will review the bids and make a recommendation to the council.

                       

Council Member Buchanan moved that Greg Poole would review and make a recommendation to the council. Council Member Mascaro seconded the motion. Motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.

 

 

 

 

 

DISCUSSION ON PROPERTY TAXES.

 

Council Member Buchanan suggested that we increase the current property tax from .001630 to .002445 this will give the city about $35,000 more revenue.

 

Council Member Mascaro moved to approve the public hearing for a property tax increase to .002445. Council Member Buchanan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.

There being no further business Council Member Mascaro moved to adjourn the meeting.  Council Member Welch seconded the motion.  Motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present to adjourn the meeting.
