MINUTES OF THE HELPER CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The regular meeting of the Helper City Council was called to order by Mayor Dalpiaz at 6:00 p.m.   

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – December 15, 2005.                                                      

 

 

 

Council Member Farrell moved to approve December 15, 2005 minutes. Council Member Mascaro seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

 

JOSEPH CHIMENO ON REFUNDING SECURITY DEPOSITS.

 

Mr. Chimeno again addressed the council on the refunding of security deposits.

There was no decision made by council.

 

 

 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL ON BEER LICENSE AND LOCAL CONSENT FOR FIREMAN’S BALL. 

 

Council Member Jones moved to approve the beer license and local consent for the fireman’s ball. Council Member Armstrong seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL ON SNOW REMOVAL ORDINANCE NO. 2006-1.

 

Council Member Mascaro moved to approve Ordinance No. 2006-01 on Snow Removal. Council Member Farrell seconded the motion. The Council roll call vote is as follows: Council Members Farrell, Mascaro, Jones and Armstrong in favor with no one in opposition Ordinance No. 2006-1 passed by a unanimous roll call vote. 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL SWIMMING POOL PROJECT.

 

Council Member Armstrong moved to advertise for a Geo Tech engineering and General Contractor/ Contractor Manager. Council Member Jones seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL ON BILLBOARD.

 

Council Member Mascaro moved to approve the refurbishing of the billboard sign located on Highway 6 in Spring Glen in the amount of about $1200. Council Member Jones seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL ON MAYOR’S APPOINTMENTS.

 

Council Member Mascaro moved to approve the Mayor’s recommendations for city appointments. Council Member Armstrong seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

Mayor Dalpiaz recommended the following increase in wages, Orlando Ochoa $3.25, Earl Cullum $2.00, Scott Grundy $1.00 and Robert Limone $1.00.  Gary Harwood’s wages will stay the same, even though his supervisor position has been terminated.

 

Council Member Mascaro moved to approve all the increases in wages. Council Member Armstrong seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.

There being no further business Council Member Mascaro moved to adjourn the meeting.  Council Member Jones seconded the motion.  Motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present to adjourn the meeting.
