MINUTES OF THE HELPER CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The regular meeting of the Helper City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro Tempore Mascaro at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Dalpiaz came in after the meeting had started.  

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – February 16, 2006.                                                        

 

 

Council Member Jones moved to approve the minutes of February 16, 2006. Council Member Farrell seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL FOR NEW SERVER AT LIBRARY IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,000.

 

Council Member Armstrong moved to approve the purchase of a new server for the library in the amount of $4,000. Council Member Farrell seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL SWIMMING POOL PROJECT.

 

 

Council Member Armstrong gave the council an update on the demolition and architect drawings.   After much discussion about the soil and the possibility of finding more of the old pool the council discussed the possibility of changing the location of the new pool.  Council Member Farrell told the council that the Helper Community Development Committee was going to the meeting of the Carbon County Recreation Service District to ask for $200,000 for the pool.  The committee is also planning a casino night on June 17 ,2006.

 

Council Member Farrell moved to approve the hiring of trucks for the debris removal. Council Member Jones seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

Council Member Buchanan moved to give the Helper Community Development Committee some funding(seed money) for the casino night. Council Member Jones seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

 

 

 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL TO REPAIR PUMP FOR SPRINGS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1200.

 

Council Member Buchanan moved to approve the repair of pump for springs in the amount of $1200. Council Member Jones seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL TO DRAFT A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT THE WILLOW CREEK CENTER.

 

Council Member Buchanan wanted the council approval to have a resolution drafted to show support of the Western State Energy Training Center at Willow Creek.

Council agreed to have a resolution drafted for next meeting.

There being no further business Council Member Buchanan moved to adjourn the meeting.  Council Member Mascaro seconded the motion.  Motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present to adjourn the meeting.
