MINUTES OF THE HELPER CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The regular meeting of the Helper City Council was called to order by Mayor Dalpiaz at 6:00 p.m.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – October 19, 2006. 

 

Council Member Farrell moved to approve the minutes of October 19, 2006. Council Member  Mascaro seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present. 

 

KENNY KIRKWOOD ON MOTOR CYCLE DESERT RACING.

 

Mr. Kirkwood told council that his plans for the desert racing are still going on.  He had talked to a few land owners, that the course would be crossing, and they agreed to allow the race.  Mr. Kirkwood would like to begin the race in Helper at the old pony league field at the main city park.   Council told him that he could proceed to get the rest of the permits he needed for the course into Price.  Mayor Dalpiaz appointed Council Member Mascaro to work with Mr. Kirkwood on the event.  The event would be the first weekend in June.

 

Council Member Jones moved to endorse the desert race with Council Members Mascaro approval and use the pony league field. Council Member  Mascaro seconded the motion, motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present. 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL ON RAISE FOR PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE IN THE AMOUNT OF $3.84 PER HOUR.

 

Mayor Dalpiaz told the council at this time he would like to withdrawn this item from the agenda.  All council members present agreed.

 

 

 

DISCUSSION ON MEETING DATES FOR 2007.

 

Council Member Farrell moved to approve Ordinance No. 2006-10 approving the meeting dates for 2007.  Council Member Mascaro seconded the motion. The Council roll call vote is as follows: Council Members Farrell, Mascaro and Jones all in favor Ordinance No. 2006-10 passed by a unanimous roll call vote. 

 

 

 

DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL ON SWIMMING POOL PROJECT.

 

Council Member Farrell told the council the construction was going well and that W.W. Clyde had donated some sand to fill in the trenches for the power lines.

There being no further business Council Member Mascaro moved to adjourn the meeting.  Council Member Farrell seconded the motion.  Motion carried. Unanimous decision by council present to adjourn the meeting.
