In September of 2006,
Helper City Fire Department received $100,000.00 from the USDA Rural
Development for the purchase of a new 3000 Gallon Tanker. Our
1979 Mack, 750 Gallon pumper, will be sold and replaced with the new
tanker. One of our major problems when responding to fires in
the unincorporated areas of Carbon County is water supply.
This new tanker will greatly enhance our capabilities in fighting
fires.
